Student attitudes towards evolution, as measured by their post-course total score on the MATE tool, are positively correlated with knowledge of evolutionary science. The latter was measured using a subset of questions from the course final exam which pertained directly to the science of evolution. The value of r indicated in the figure (0.35), is Pearson’s correlation coefficient for the two variables.Back to article page
