Present-day (dark gray and black) and past (light gray and black) distribution models of three Hordeum species in southern South America, calculated with GARP on the basis of present-day occurrence points (white dots) for the species. The past potential distribution areas are during the Last Glacial Maximum (about 21,000 years ago), and represent a consensus between two different global climate models. Apart from inland Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, the models infer stable potential distributional areas of the Hordeum species throughout their present-day distributions since the Last Glacial Maximum.
